Description :

·         ·         Some knowledge of Teradata's FSDM will be helpful.  

·         The Physical Data Modeler is responsible for the design and instantiation of the physical data model, based on the logical data model.

·         This includes creating the base tables, associative tables, and views, and choosing and creating all indexes.

·         The Physical Data Modeler uses input from the Business Information Modeler, the Capacity Planner, the Database Administrator, and the ETL Consultants.

·         This individual must have the skills to understand the logical data model as well as the business requirements.

·         The Physical Data Modeler may be the Lead Consultant on a project. 

 

Skills Set Required :

·         Uses the Teradata logical model and techniques necessary to determine data gaps and plan them in a logical iteration process to support EDW development.

·         Uses the FSLDM, Erwin, Interactions of the DB and the physical model (trade-offs and efficiency) and DDL generation to instantiate efficient models in the Teradata Database that are tailored to represent the client's business with efficient processing
